a. The karat of your items.
b. The weight of your items.

2. What kind of experience can I expect when selling my items? Back to top

Many people wonder how things work when selling their items. We aim to provide the highest in customer service in a Friendly and professional manner. You have several options when selling your items:

A. You Visit Us

You can choose to visit us at our downtown Toronto office located at Yonge and Dundas. We book appointments for each client to allow enough time to price your items in a relaxed atmosphere. When you arrive you will be greeted at the front desk, a representative will then accompany you into one of our private offices.

At your appointment you will be present while we weigh, inspect and provide you with pricing. Upon your acceptance of price you will then be paid immediately by your choice of cash or cheque. (Most people prefer cash).

The majority of our appointments take 10 to 20 minutes depending on the number and types of items you have.

B. We Travel To You

You may prefer to have a representative come to you, for this we offer our ‘housecall’ service. We will arrange to meet at a mutually convenient time at your home, office, business or local cafe. At this time we will provide you with pricing on your items, upon your acceptance of price we will then pay you immediately.

Again depending on the number and types of items you can expect the process to take no more than 10-20 minutes. Our housecall service is available in the GTA.

C. Send Us Your Items

People across Canada like to take advantage of our high payment prices by sending us their items. If you’re not in the greater Toronto area you can ship us your items via Canada Post, we always recommend you purchase tracking and signature required when sending your items. Using Canada Post you can monitor the progress of your package and verify it was delivered promptly to us.

Upon receipt of your items we will notify you that we have received your package within 2 hours. We will provide you with a confirmed price within 24 hrs of receiving your items. Upon your approval of payment amount we will issue payment with 24hrs. You can choose to be paid by Email Bank Transfer or Company cheque. If your payment amount is over $200.00 we will reimburse your shipping costs. (Over 95% of our payments are over $200.00)

If you choose to be paid via Email Bank Transfer you can have your money in your bank account with 48hrs of us receiving your items. Cheques are issued daily and usually take 3-5 business days to arrive depending on your location.

You will find our downloadable Payment and Shipping instructions at this link.

3. How are my items weighed? Back to top
We weigh and provide pricing in grams, for our current prices click here.
Word Of Caution: Many competitors provide pricing in Pennyweight or DWT’s, you see 1 Pennyweight/DWT = 1.55 grams, this can make their prices appear deceptively high when in fact they are considerably lower than our prices.

4. How can I tell how much my items weigh? Back to top
Without an accurate scale it is impossible to tell the exact weight of your pieces. If you’d like to get a rough idea of the weight of an item you can compare your things with either a Loonie or Quarter. A Loonie weighs 7 grams and a quarter weighs 5 grams. Put your item(s) in one hand and the appropriate numbers of Loonies or quarters in the other, you should be able to get a rough feel for the accurate weight.

5. Do you purchase gemstones? Back to top
Unfortunately we do not purchase gemstones, they will be included in the weight of your items, alternatively if they are easily removed (at our discretion) we are happy to remove and return them to you.

6. Is my transaction confidential? Back to top
All transactions are confidential. At the time of sale we fill out a sellers bill of sale that describes the items purchased and that they warrant good title of goods sold.

7. What if I’m not happy with the price you quote? Back to top
In the unlikely event you’re not completely satisfied with your payment amount you are under no obligation to sell your items. We are a service business and never want to have an unhappy client.

8. What’s the difference between DWT (Penny Weight) and Grams? Back to top
1 DWT or Penny Weight is equal to 1.55 grams.
